Parks and Recreation in St. Marys.

St. Marys Golf Course is a very scenic 9 hole course, municipally owned and operated, also located on the hills overlooking the Kansas River Valley.

The substantial and well-maintained grounds of St. Marys Riverside Park feature shaded picnic areas, a municipal swimming pool, athletic fields, basketball and tennis courts and limited RV parking.

When visiting St. Marys, take awhile to drive, bike or hike the Lasso Trail! Beginning in downtown St. Marys - Lasso is 29.1 miles long. 26.6 miles is gravel. 2.0 miles on the southern end of Camp Creek Road is dirt. The first 7.0 miles follows the Old Oregon Trail (On Oregon Trail Road!) and passes the Jeffrey Energy Center Park and Picnic Area. The next 16 miles follows Lost Creek and Camp Creek Roads which take you through beautiful Northern Flint Hills backcountry, past extensive Wildlife Refuge Areas, and back to Oregon Trail Road.

Beware the last (southern) 2.0 miles of Camp Creek Road after a rain! It will be steep, muddy, slick and impassable to vehicles.
