Statistical
Resources
KSU Agricultural Economics
homepage contains reports on county and city economic strength,
retail pull, and trade area capture.
KSU Office
of Local Government's Situation and Trends reports by county contains
a wealth of information on many subjects.
KU Public Research Institute (PRI)
homepage. Go to the "Kansas Data" link. Census 2000 and
Kansas data Reports are available, but better yet are the "Economic
Data Summary Reports" and the "County Profile Reports."
Kansas Inc. conducts economic
analysis of Kansas. Their better known publication is the County Vitality
and Distress Report. Other reports are focused on public fund allocation
and public policy.
The US Census offers a large quantity
of data if you can find it within their vast site. The second link is
to American
Fact Finder, which is also concerned with the census but is organized
differently. Good luck!
The Bureau of Economic Analysis
home page contains state and regional data, but also contains measures
of income on the county level.
